Miguel A. Carmona is a founding partner of Aurora Ventures,
a European based venture capital fund and advisory company operating in the United States .
He is a founding partner at Cosmos Capital and Safira Capital both multi-strategy hedge funds and is a director of the Petra Opportunity Fund.
Mr. Carmona also serves on the Board of Bionnovation Biomedical, CVDentus and Woohoo Action Sports Channel. Mr. Carmona was
previously Senior Advisor to the United Nations and European Union development operations in Eastern Africa .
Prior to that, Mr. Carmona managed Business Development in Asia Pacific for Global One Telecom and was Business Affairs Supervisor for News Corporation's,
STAR TV. Mr. Carmona graduated cum laude from Tufts University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Relations and Spanish Literature
Mr. Gipson is the head of venture investing for Aurora, reporting to Mr. Carmona, and heads our real estate affiliate in Austin, Texas. He also provides ongoing strategic and corporate development advisory services to our portfolio companies and has served on the Board of Directors of Energy Logics and Riscuity. Mr. Gipson was previously a finance executive at Procter & Gamble, serving in North and South America, before joining Aurora in 2004. Mr. Gipson holds an Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin, McCombs School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Management from the Tulane University, A.B. Freeman School of Business.
In 1991, Mr. Hallqvist founded Manser International, a Brazilian management Services Company specialized in trade.
Mr. Hallqvist specialized in promotion, logistics, export funding, and trade negotiations. In 1995 Mr. Hallqvist became Managing Director of Divina Fruit Company,
a company that represented Brazilian grape producers locally and internationally. Mr. Hallqvist participated in the board of IBRAF, the Brazilian Institute of Fruit and was responsible for the international
promotion budget for this entity. During the next years Mr Hallqvist participated avidly in diverse fruit related companies such as Produce Marketing,
a marketing company and he also founded Qualyfruit a boutique shop & restaurant related to fruits with annual sales over US$ 3M.
After relocating to the US in 2000, Mr. Hallqvist became manager for Innova Health International. Mr. Hallqvist was running the market-intelligence department for business development to and from Brazil
for medical and dental products.
In 2004 Innova participated in the acquisition of a Dental Implant manufacturing plant, which he is running until today.
Mr. Hallqvist serves on the board of CVD Dentus and Bionnovation Biomedical. Mr. Hallqvist graduated from Pontificia Universidade Catolica de São Paulo.
